The Vacuum Electric Switch Co. was founded in 1998 when it developed a patented process to remanufacture vacuum interrupter modules for VBT™ arc furnace switches. VBT ™ switches are a product of the Joslyn-Hi-Voltage Corp. and for more than forty years have been used world wide by the steel and foundry industry to turn arc furnaces on and off. The vacuum interrupter module is an expensive and frequently replaced part, and this innovation substantially reduced the cost of maintenance. Remanufacturing modules is now a routine practice at more than forty steel mills in the U.S. and Canada. |
